Tickets Only Valid On SSL Travel Cards from May 1st On Board Our Busses

From May 1st all our busses will be new and environmentally friendly on all routes with reduced timetables and ticketing and by request only.
You can only pay for tickets on board our busses from May 1st to May 8th with an SSL travel card. More information about these travel cards here. This system will be put into place to lessen the Corona decease contamination. We will only accept SSL travel cards, such as value or monthly cards, as payment and therefore you cannot purchase tickets with cash or credit cards during this period on our busses. You will not be allowed on board our busses without a valid SSL travel card.  
To comply with the recommendations from the national health authorities only 9 people will be allowed on board our larger busses, 5 people on board our medium sized busses and 3 people on board the smaller busses. More information in the timetables and request system on our busses below.
 
How To Purchase An SSL Travel Card
SSL-travel cards can be purchased and picked up at our head office in Tvøroyri, at the main bus terminal in Tórshavn, in the kiosk on board Smyril or must be purchased via telephone number +298 343030. Booked SSL cards can be posted to the address of the purchaser. Please make a bank transfer to account number 9181-515.310.9 in Betri Bank and send us a receipt of the transaction to fyrisiting@ssl.fo. When we have received this receipt we can post you the SSL travel card.
 
Ferry Routes will sail according to the decreased timetable from april 28th until May 8th. More information here.
 
We will also have a decreased number in passengers, except for route 7, where the capacity will increase to 200 passengers and the kiosk will also be re-opened.
 
The winther timetable on route 58 (Ritan), 56 (Sam) and 66 (Sildberin) will continue.  Passengers that want to sail with route 58 (Ritan), 60 (Spógvin) and 66 (Silberin) must still book all journeys in advance and state their name and telephone number when booking. Passengers must sit in a designated seat on board to maintain a safe distance and thus lessen the contamination in connection with Covid-19.
 
We request that all our passengers on board our ferry routes purchase tickets with an SSL travel card.
 
We advise all passengers to limit their usage of public transport and only use public transport when necessary.
